Expert Answers about Chevrolet Snow Plow

  • How to Mount a SnowBear Plow at the Front of a 2020 Chevy Colorado
  • It looks like the old SnowBear mounting kits weren't made for Chevy Colorado pickups so for your 2020 model you'll either need to have a shop fabricate something for you or you'll need to install the Front 2" Hitch Receiver # C31074 and use a hitch-mounted plow like the 84" Wide x 22" Tall SnowBear Plow # SB324-081 which comes with an electric winch.

  • The 5XM5 Universal Cross Member # SB324-060 installs between the 2-point vehicle specific mounting brackets and the snow plow itself. If you already have the 2-point vehicle mounting brackets and the snow plow then this is exactly what you need. • Replacement Spring for SnowBear 324-080 Snow Plot
  • I have a solution for you, but the tension springs for a SnowBear Personal Snowplow for 2" Hitches - Electric Winch - 82" Wide x 19" Tall # SB324-080 are not sold individually. However, the Replacement Spring Kit for SnowBear Snowplows # SB600-128 comes with 2 springs and the hardware needed to repair the plow, so you would be able to replace your lost spring and still have an extra spring on hand in the event of a future loss or break. We do also have some other parts available for this...

  • Is the 5XM5 Universal Cross Member Required for a SnowBear Snow Plow on a 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • The 5XM5 universal cross member # SB324-060 is designed to work with all vehicle-specific mounting brackets and SnowBear snow plows. But the plows that require it already come with this bar and you would not need to add it if you are buying a plow new. Do you already have a plow? If so let me know which one. If you are looking for a plow do you want one that mounts in a front hitch or would you rather have custom fit brackets? I would need to know if your 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 is...

  • Options for Mounting An Older Snowbear Snow Plow On A 2020 Ford F150
  • There are going to be snow plow options for your 2020 F150. Now I am not sure exactly what Snowbear plow you have, but all of the plows we have now for the 2020 F150 are going to be mounted to a front mount 2" hitch receiver like the Curt # 31221, which is custom fitted for your truck. So if your old plow is a front hitch mount, this hitch is all you will need. If your current plow uses custom frame mount brackets, I am afraid we do not have any custom brackets for your 2020 F150. Knowing...

  • How to Determine If I Have an OLD or NEW Western Plow to Replace the Cable
  • At almost 40 years old it's safe to bet that your Western plow would be considered "old", but obviously still reliable. The difference between the Replacement Control Cable for Western Snow Plow - "New Style" - 9' Long # 3371313010 and Replacement Control Cable for Western Snow Plow - "Old Style" - 9' Long # 3371313005 is the connections on the ends. Both have a ring at one end, but the "Old Style" has a ball connection on the end while the "New Style" is designed to receive a ball type...

  • Is 5XM5 Universal Cross Member Required for a SnowBear Plow for a 2013 Ram
  • If your SnowBear snow plow is a model that fits in vehicle-specific mounting brackets and it is missing the cross member you would need to add # SB324-060 to go from the plow to the mounting brackets. Which plow do you have? I can bring up the parts list and you can see if you are missing anything such as the cross member. In the picture you sent I do not see the above-mentioned cross member.

  • Recommended Snow Plow and Mounting Brackets for 1997 Ford F-150
  • The snow plow I suggest for your 1997 Ford F-150 is the Detail K2 Rampage II # K2RAMP8219. It uses a remote controlled electric winch to adjust the plow. It also has springs so the plow will lean forward when it comes into contact with an unseen object. This will protect the plow and your truck. To mount the plow you'll need # K281512 if your truck is a 4-wheel drive model or # K281511 if it's 2-wheel drive.

  • Hitch-Mount Adapter for SnowBear Winter Wolf Snowplow
  • SnowBear Winter Wolf Snowplow Hitch Adapter # SB324-120 is the correct part for your 1996 Winter Wolf plow to allow you to install it in the 2-inch front-mount receiver hitch on your Silverado. Snowbear has kept the same 31-inch spacing on their plow mounts for close to 30 years so this part is correct. I did call Snowbear to confirm. My technical contact there mentioned that since this item moves the plow's weight further away from the vehicle care should be exercised to avoid bending...

  • Pins Needed to Install SnowBear Plow on Custom Mounting Bracket Kit # SB397-012 for a 2005 Silverado
  • I spoke with my contact at SnowBear who said if you don't already have the 5XM5 Universal Cross Member # SB324-060 then you would need it in addition to the Custom Mounting Bracket Kit # SB397-012. • Mounting Kit Required to Install Detail K2 Rampage II Snowplow K2RAMP8219 on 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4X4
  • To mount the Detail K2 Rampage II Snowplow # K2RAMP8219 on your 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 you will need the appropriate installation kit. That bracket kit part is # K285120. Very often trucks that have a snow plow installed will benefit from some front-end suspension support to help offset the load from the plow's weight. Since the Rampage weighs in at 265-lbs you will certainly notice the stability benefits from a set of front jounce springs. A kit like Timbren's # TTOFTUN4 will bolt on...
